Our annual Philip L. Burton Memorial Scholarship Dinner was a night to remember! It was not merely an event but a celebration of community and a testament to the power of collective action. Honoring the tireless efforts of our organization's past, present, and future members we paused to reflect on milestones conquered and challenges overcome. We were honored with the unique opportunity to have a fireside chat with Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, the Honorable Richard A. Jones, moderated by LMBA Past President Erika Evans, where we learned about Judge Jones' journey and legacy. Scholarships were awarded to six incredible law students who just graduated and will be preparing for the bar examination this summer. In addition to Judge Jones, six members of our legal community were honored, showcasing the many forms of Black excellence within LMBA. This year's scholarship dinner was a celebration of achievements, both individual and collective.
Thanks to your incredible support, we raised an impressive $17,805.96 in donations (and counting)! This remarkable achievement will significantly impact the lives of future recipients of the Philip L. Burton Memorial Scholarship.
We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone involved, especially our amazing sponsors, the Loren Miller Bar Foundation, and the outstanding members of the Loren Miller Bar Association. Your dedication and generosity were pivotal in making this event such a success.
