Preserving Legacy: Celebrating Community and Culture at the 2024 Annual Founders' Day Picnic

This past Saturday, the Loren Miller Bar Association (LMBA) celebrated our annual Founders' Day Picnic, hosted graciously by James Williams and Carolyn Ladd at their beautiful home. We extend our deepest gratitude to them for welcoming us all with such warmth.

We were honored to have our esteemed founder, Lem Howell, join us for the celebration. It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with both old friends and new members who have recently joined our community. Each of you plays a vital role in preserving the legacy of LMBA, ensuring that our culture of support, leadership, and advocacy continues to thrive.

A special thank you goes to Lil Reds BBQ, a small Black-owned business, for catering the event with their delicious offerings. We are also proud to share that LMBA donated the remaining food to a local shelter, ensuring that the spirit of giving back continued beyond the picnic.

Finally, we are thrilled to announce the success of our ongoing membership drive. Since June 1, we've seen a remarkable 583% increase in new subscriptions, with 41 new paid members—53% of whom are net new members. This achievement wouldn't have been possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of everyone involved.

Thank you to all who made the 2024 Founders' Day Picnic a memorable and successful event!

Cheers,

LMBA Executive Board
